江蓋世，1958年出生於台灣桃園大溪。青年時期投入台灣民主運動，後來走進彩墨書道創作，四十多年來，始終相信藝術可以連結土地、人與時代。

Kaise Chiang was born in Daxi, Taoyuan, Taiwan, in 1958. After taking part in Taiwan's democratic movement in his younger years, he devoted himself to colorful ink calligraphy. For more than forty years, he has believed that art can connect people, the land, and the spirit of the times.

2026年，他發起《命運》巡演，帶著一支毛筆行走台灣，以書寫、創作與對話，邀請人們一起思考一個簡單卻重要的問題：「我們的命運，由誰決定？」

In 2026, he launched the Destiny Tour, traveling across Taiwan with a single brush. Through calligraphy, art, and conversation, he invites people to reflect on one simple but important question: "Who decides our destiny?"

這個網站，記錄他的創作、旅程與夢想，也期待從台灣出發，與世界分享台灣書道藝術的故事。

This website records his art, his journey, and his dream. It is also a place to share the story of Taiwanese calligraphic art with the world.

江蓋世個人簡介

江蓋世（Kaise Chiang），1958年生，台灣桃園大溪人。1982年台灣大學政治研究所碩士。

從事台灣民主運動，入獄兩次，坐監期間暫時遠離政治，投身藝術理論研究並學習台語文，其後潛心創作「彩墨草書」，推展「台灣書道」。

中國傳統書法多以黑白意境為主，江蓋世則嘗試抽象筆劃與彩墨移轉，開創「台灣書道藝術」，並推廣至國際書畫藝壇。

An introduction of the artist Kaise Chiang

Born in 1958 at Da-si, Taoyuan, Kaise Chiang earned a master’s degree in Political Science from National Taiwan University.

Chiang was imprisoned twice thanks to his participation in Taiwan’s democratic movement. While jailed, he was forced to get away from the political arena temporarily and concentrated on the research of artistic theories and his native language Tai-gi. Later on, he devoted himself to the creation of cursive scripts in colorful inks and the promotion of Taiwanese calligraphy.

Chinese traditional calligraphy stresses unrestrained wielding of the brush with black ink. In contrast, Chiang advocates abstract strokes and varied application of color ink in the newly created Taiwanese calligraphy, promoting this Taiwan-based invention to international art forum.
